What it’s about. Berlin 1934: In der Nacht vor dem Röhm Putsch feiert man in Gretas Club die letzte Party. Auch der lebenslustige Max und sein Freund Rudy lieben das schwule Nachtleben. Es ist die berüchtigte Nacht der langen Messer. Max und Rudy können fliehen, werden aber gestellt und nach Dachau deportiert. Im Zug ins Konzentrationslager lernt Max von dem Mitgefangenen Horst mit der neuen Ordnung zurechtzukommen. Um zu überleben, tut er, was die Gestapo verlangt, verleugnet seine Homosexualität. Durch seine Verbundenheit mit Horst begreift Max, dass in der Beziehung zwischen zwei Menschen weniger die körperliche Liebe als vielmehr Vertrauen und Nähe wichtig ist.
