Released in 1985, Live Aid is a musik and dokumentarfilm film directed by Vincent Scarza, running about 960 minutes. “The day the music changed the world” — that tagline sets the tone.

What it’s about. Boomtown-Rats-Sänger Bob Geldof sah im TV Bilder von der Hungersnot in Afrika und entschloss sich spontan, mit ein paar befreundeten Musikern eine Benefiz-Single "Do They Know It´s Christmas?" einzuspielen und sie wurde ein Riesenerfolg. Damit wart der Grundstein für das Live Aid-Festival im Londoner Wembley-Stadion gelegt. Live Aid fand am selben Tag parallel in London und im JFK Stadium in Philadelphia statt und brachte so viele Megastars auf die Bühne wie kein anderes Festival davor oder danach. Insgesamt 16 Stunden spielte die Crème de la crème der internationalen Musikszene unentgeltlich für die hungernden Menschen in Äthiopien, Eritrea und dem Sudan und sammelte Spenden in Höhe von über 140 Millionen Dollar.

How it landed. With an audience score of 7.8/10, Live Aid has been warmly received by audiences. It went on to earn $150M at the box office.
