What it’s about. Monique ist eine Teenagerin, die in dem New Yorker Stadtteil Brownsville in Brooklyn aufwächst. Wer dort lebt, muss sich schnell ein ganz dickes Fell zulegen, denn die Gegend zählt zu den härtesten der ganzen Stadt. Auch Monique ist nach etlichen Jahren in Pflegefamilien ziemlich abgehärtet.
