What it’s about. Laura und Henry Porter müssen als Kinder mit ansehen, wie ihre Eltern brutal von einer dunklen Gestalt in den eigenen vier Wänden ermordet werden. Der blutige Vorfall wird nie aufgeklärt und die Geschwister quälen sich seither mit Albträumen und Ängsten herum. Während sich der ältere Henry einer erfolgreichen Therapie in der psychiatrischen Anstalt von Dr. Mitchell Allen unterzogen hat, glaubt seine Schwester Laura, mit ihren Ängsten auch ohne fremde Hilfe fertig werden zu können. Doch nach Henrys Entlassung muss Laura erkennen, dass ihre psychische Verfassung von Tag zu Tag labiler wird. Deshalb wagt auch sie den Schritt in die geschlossene Anstalt.
