Released in 1989, Shotgun is an action and thriller film directed by Addison Randall, running about 85 minutes. “Playing by the rules can get you killed” — that tagline sets the tone.

What it’s about. Ein Prostituiertenmörder zieht im Rotlichtmilieu herum und ermordet immer mal wieder eine Prostituierte. Das passt zweien Polizisten gar nicht ins Konzept und daher versuchen sie, den irren Mörder zu schnappen. Eines der Opfer war die Schwester des einen Polizisten und deshalb verfolgt er ein besonderes Interesse daran, dem Killer den Garaus zu machen. Als unser Hardcore-Cop vom Dienst suspendiert wird (inzwischen trägt er den Spitznamen ,,Shotgun-Jones"), wendet er immer rabiatere Methoden an, den Killer zu fangen. Am Schluss kommt es sogar soweit, dass er mit Hilfe eines alten Freundes eine Art Panzerwagen baut, der mit einem Maschinengewehr und einem Flammenwerfer ausgestattet ist, und damit stürmt er das Hauptquartier...

Who’s in it. Shotgun stars Stuart Chapin as Ian Jones, Rif Hutton as Max Billings, David Marriott as Rocker and Rhonda Gray as Sheri, among others.

How it landed. With an audience score of 3.2/10, Shotgun has proved divisive with audiences.
