What it’s about. Die Sterne stehen schlecht für den Hollywood-Produzenten Griffin Mill. Zum einen sitzt dem Erfolgsverwöhnten ein Konkurrent im Nacken, zum anderen erhält er per Post laufend mysteriöse Morddrohungen. Er verdächtigt den Drehbuchautor David Kahane. Bei einer Aussprache zwischen den beiden kommt es zum Streit, Kahane stürzt – und ist tot. In der Hoffnung, ungeschoren davonzukommen, täuscht Mill einen Raubüberfall vor. Im Verhör durch Detecitve Avery streitet er natürlich alles ab. Bei Kahane’s Beerdigung lernt er dessen Freundin June kennen und eine heiße Liebesgeschichte beginnt. Als die Polizei jedoch eine Zeugin des Mordes präsentiert, scheint die Katastrophe unabwendbar.
