What it’s about. Paris, 1959: Der alternde, alkoholgefährdete Jazz-Saxophonist Dale Turner kehrt nach Paris zurück, wo er einst seine größten Triumphe feierte und nun im Blue Note auftreten darf. Davon hört auch der Franzose Francis, der Dale zu seiner Glanzzeit erlebte, sich nun aber zunächst nicht einmal eine Eintrittskarte für den Club leisten kann und von Außen zuhören muss. Er beschließt, sich des vereinsamten Musikers anzunehmen und ihm ein Umfeld zu bieten, in dem er sich wieder voll der Musik widmen kann.
