What it’s about. Un meteorito se estrella en el museo de Historia Natural de una pequeña ciudad de Louisiana y la fuerza alienígena que se esconde en su interior logra despertar la furia de un mamut congelado hace más de 40.000 años. Las fuerzas especiales tienen órdenes de detener la amenaza de la criatura a toda costa. Para ello tienen 17 horas; de lo contrario, la ciudad será arrasada. El paleontólogo del museo, el doctor Frank Abernathy, se ve involucrado en la persecución de la bestia prehistórica.
