Tras interminables años de guerra civil, el Japón feudal tiembla ante una terrible amenaza: la aparición del Shogun de las Tinieblas, que con su ejército de criaturas demoníacas y sanguinarios guerreros, pretende convertir a todo Japón en sangre y fuego. Un poderoso guerrero errante llamado Jubei estará dispuesto a enfrentarse al Shogun de las Tinieblas y acabar con él cueste lo que cueste. Jubei es un legendario samurai cuyas técnicas de combate le permiten derrotar a cualquier enemigo.
