Cimarron (1931): reparto, argumento y streaming

Released in 1931, Cimarron is a drama, historia and wéstern film directed by Wesley Ruggles, running about 123 minutes. “Terrific as all creation!” — that tagline sets the tone.

What it’s about. When the government opens up the Oklahoma territory for settlement, restless Yancey Cravat claims a plot of the free land for himself and moves his family there from Wichita. A newspaperman, lawyer, and just about everything else, Cravat soon becomes a leading citizen of the boom town of Osage. Once the town is established, however, he begins to feel confined once again, and heads for the Cherokee Strip, leaving his family behind. During this and other absences, his wife Sabra must learn to take care of herself and soon becomes prominent in her own right.

Who’s in it. Cimarron stars Richard Dix as Yancey Cravat, Irene Dunne as Sabra Cravat, Estelle Taylor as Dixie Lee and Nance O'Neil as Felice Venable, among others.

How it landed. With an audience score of 5.5/10, Cimarron has drawn a solid, mixed-to-positive response. It went on to earn $1.4M at the box office.
