Director, guionista y productor de cine y director artístico inglés. Trabajó como director artístico de 1947 a 1953, dirigiendo su primera película en ese año, Skid Kids. Don Chaffey es conocido principalmente por sus films de fantasía, como Jasón y los argonautas (1963), The Three Lives of Thomasina (1964), Hace un millón de años (1966), The Viking Queen (1967), Criaturas Olvidadas del Mundo (1971), Pedro y el dragón Elliott (1977) y C.H.O.M.P.S. (1979). Durante la década de los ochenta se dedicó en exclusiva al mundo de la televisión, dirigiendo series con un éxito notable. Falleció el 13 de noviembre de 1990 en Kawau Island, Nueva Zelanda.
