Teruo Ishii fue un director de cine japonés más conocido en Occidente por sus primeras películas de la serie Super Giant y por sus películas del subgénero Ero guro de pinku eiga, como «El placer de la tortura». También dirigió la película de 1965 «Prisión Abashiri», que ayudó a convertir a Ken Takakura en una estrella importante en Japón.
