The Rousters poster

Released in 1983, The Rousters is a notable film directed by E.W. Swackhamer.

What it’s about. Jim "Ernest" Varney stars as Evan Earp, one member of a rowdy family descended from the famed tamer of the Wild West: There's Evan's brother of Wyatt Earp III, and their feisty mother, Amanda, part-time bounty hunter and full-time keeper of the family flame. All work at the Sladetown Carnival, Wyatt as the troubleshooting rouster, Evan as the decidedly unhandy handyman: his mind as a self-proclaimed "national resource" From runaway girls to insurance conmen, life at the carnival is never dull, especially when the legacy of the Earps' famous name comes to life as they become targets for a gang of modern gunslingers named Clayton in this action-packed, high-comedy adventure.

Who’s in it. The Rousters stars Jim Varney as Evan Earp, Mimi Rogers as Ellen, Chad Everett as Wyatt Earp III and Maxine Stuart as Amanda Earp, among others.
