Upgrade (2018) : distribution, intrigue et streaming

Released in 2018, Upgrade is an action, thriller and science-fiction film directed by Leigh Whannell, running about 100 minutes. “Ni homme, ni machine. Bien plus.” — that tagline sets the tone.

What it’s about. Après la mort de son épouse, lors d'une violente agression, qui l'a lui même laissé paralysé, Grey Trace est contacté par un inventeur milliardaire, qui propose de lui administrer un remède expérimental qui va améliorer son corps et ses facultés. Désormais doté d'un implant fonctionnant à l'intelligence artificielle, Grey voit ses capacités physiques décuplées et cherche à retrouver ses agresseurs, afin de leur faire payer la mort de sa femme.

Who’s in it. Upgrade stars Logan Marshall-Green as Grey Trace, Simon Maiden as Stem (voice), Betty Gabriel as Detective Cortez and Benedict Hardie as Fisk, among others.

How it landed. With an audience score of 7.5/10, Upgrade has been warmly received by audiences. It went on to earn $16.7M at the box office.
