Machete (2010) : distribution, intrigue et streaming

Released in 2010, Machete is an action, comédie and thriller film directed by Robert Rodriguez, running about 105 minutes. “Il y a des mexicains qu'il ne faut pas chercher” — that tagline sets the tone.

What it’s about. Ils ont cru qu’il était un simple ouvrier, un bouc émissaire idéal pour porter le chapeau d’un assassinat politique. Ils ignoraient qu’il s’agissait de Machete, un ancien agent fédéral hors pair, une légende… Laissé pour mort après son affrontement avec le puissant baron de la drogue mexicain Torrez, Machete s’est réfugié au Texas, où il cherche à oublier son passé. Cette fois, Machete est bien décidé à se laver de ces accusations et à dénoncer une corruption rampante et tentaculaire. Mais il va trouver sur sa route Booth, un homme d’affaires prêt à tout entouré d’innombrables tueurs à sa solde ; Von, à la tête de sa petite armée personnelle, et Sartana, une employée des services d’immigration prise entre le respect de la loi et son désir de faire ce qui est juste...

Who’s in it. Machete stars Danny Trejo as Machete, Michelle Rodriguez as Luz, Jessica Alba as Sartana Rivera and Robert De Niro as Senator John McLaughlin, among others.

How it landed. With an audience score of 6.3/10, Machete has drawn a solid, mixed-to-positive response. It went on to earn $45.5M at the box office.
