Rejetés et raillés par tous les élèves d'un collège, un garçon borgne (Matt) et une fille en surpoids (Jill) finissent par se lier d'amitié pour tout de suite laisser place à une histoire d'amour. Leur relation est mise à rude épreuve face à la méchanceté des uns et des autres.
